La Roche-Posay Melt-In BB Cream

I first saw this BB Cream on the telly through the 女人我最大 The Queen Show and I started googling on the product but there seem to be very little publicity about this BB Cream especially in Asia. Googling on YouTube only saw results of reviews based in France which is where the brand originated.

I saw it at our local Watsons but with a price tag of S$50+ for the 30ml tube. I was definitely interested to try out this BB Cream but refused to pay for that price and luck was on my side when lunafacewas heading to Taiwan for a holiday and I got her to help me keep a look out for it as beauty products are generally cheaper in Taiwan as compared to Singapore. And surprise surprise! She found it for slightly under S$40 and I got her to get it for me immediately!

Sounds amazing huh? I personally do like the La-Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water and was really interested to try this BB Cream!

Seems very promising!

Ingredient List

A pretty standard squeeze tube packaging.

La Roche-Posay Melt-In BB Cream

Coverage: Coverage? WHAT coverage? Light. Extremely Light
Texture: Creamy
Shade: I bought the lightest shade, #01 but it doesn't matter since there's absolutely no coverage
Undertone: Grey / Neutral (it doesn't quite matter too since there is no coverage)
Fragrance: Fragrance-Free
Oil-Control: None
Finish: Dewy
Other Comments:From the summarized description above, you probably can tell that I am not impressed with this 'BB Cream'. Not a wee bit. To me, it is a tinted sunblock for dry to normal skins. I first tried it in Singapore and could not build up any coverage and had to use a powder foundation to achieve the coverage I required. That was 1 major negative point for the light-almost-no-coverage. Next to be tested was the oil-control and how long it'll last without a makeup primer. BB Creams in general are supposedly formulated with a makeup primer. Well, I was hoping that the oil control will redeem itself but no, by the 3rd hour, what seems to be a dewy finish was actually greasiness from my oily skin. By mid-day, I looked like an oil slick and the makeup was close to sliding off my face. Melt-in BB Cream? More like Melt-OFF BB Cream. After that application, I thought to myself, maybe the climate in Singapore wasn't suitable to use this product on my oily skin and I packed it along to Las Vegas in December 2013 where the dry desert climate might be slightly more suitable. I packed it as a sunblock instead of a BB Cream but UNFORTUNATELY, it did not work for me even in the dry desert climate. Well, it was not as greasy as it was in Singapore but it was greasy enough for me to not like it at all. I was extremely disappointed as I had high hopes for this BB Cream. Fortunately, I packed along the Clarins BB Cream which had an SPF of 40 and had a high coverage. I passed it onto my mother who has dry matured skin and though she did not absolutely love it but continued to use it as a sunblock till today.

Make the judgment yourself as I personally will not recommend it to anyone, not even dry matured skin. For this price, you can  definitely get a better product.
