More Cooking

We have been cooking a little more in ROP this week. I still don't like the class though. I don't feel like I've learned a lot. Ms. Cruz is making us do dishes if we come late to class now. Luckily I don't come late enough to be forced to do them. =) I need to come to school earlier. This whole week, I've been arriving on campus before the bell rings, but only reach the third street area near the B-building when the bell rings. She changed our seats so I sit next to her desk too! =( I liked my old table group more, but things aren't bad. On Tuesday, we made sald, garlic bread, and fetuccini alfredo with chicken. Today, we made tortilla soup with salad. I had to slice and dice the jalapenos today because nobody else in my group wanted to. Ms. Cruz told us to take the membrane out and save it because we might need it later. Eventually, we did need the membrane and seeds later. The teacher told me to rub the seeds off the membrane and maybe put lemon juice on my hand later so it my hand won't be burning. Well, I rub many of the seeds of the membrane and chopped them. Now I know why nobody wanted to chop them or take the seeds off. Ms. Cruz told me that she used to have a student who chopped jalapenos and touched her eye, then her eye got really read and swollen and it was like 3 days after prom. So she had a really big puffy eye =(, then it went away after a few days. I'm glad I didn't touch my eye. But now my hands really really sting! The other person who chopped the jalapenos didn't feel the burn. I think it's because I was the one who had to rub the seeds off. gah... It starts burning everywhere I touch my face. The lemon juice didn't help. Blah.. it really stings between my fingers now. The stupid tortilla soup wasn't even that good. =( I wonder how long it will be until I can get rid of this burning feeling. I washed my hands so many times already. =/
