with mom and dad

i fell asleep while reading an article about rizal for my pi 100 report next week.
then my father called. he told me to meet him and my mom in his office. i dizzily answered because half of my brain was still numb from dozing. "o bakit nanginginig yang boses mo? nasan ka ba?" he asked. "nasa dorm po... e nakatulog ako, kagigising ko lang."
i went straight to manila to meet them.
fast forward!
when i already got to see my parents in chowking, i ran to my dad and gave him a hug. i embraced him for like 10 seconds. good thing he embraced me back. but i felt kinda awkward 'cause he has his friend with him. i was trying to let go but he held me--he held me so tight i could feel him trembling. it was really awkward 'cause we're not usually touchy and expressive in the family. after the long embrace, i saw him wiping his eyes. my mom's in tears, too. i didn't feel like crying at that moment but seeing them in a very touchy mood, i felt my eyes were starting to burn, too.
we ate. dad accomplished some reports in the office. then, when it's time to go back to the mall, he was ranting (about stuff that, obviously, was pretty personal).
fast forward.
"o, ano gusto mo?" he asked me for n times while we're roaming. my mom did the same thing, too. but i really couldn't decide. i'm not really used to telling them what i want. i just accept what they give me. anyhu, i didn't want to ruin my parent's "buying mood" day so i said i was longing to have a pair of converse shoes.
and then dad said, "ay, may ipapakita ako sa 'yo na gusto kong bilin. di ba, mommy? nakita namin sa mall." and then he picked up the limited edition of converse he was talking about. "mommy, 'yan po yung balak kong bilin nu'n. yan yung balak namin bilin ni ate buh." "ay ganun ba?" and then my dad laughed, "tingnan mo, labo (my dad's nickname for my mom), pareho kami ng taste ng anak mo."

this may seem corny or mushy or whatever but who cares? i don't mind.
i'm proud to share this happy day to the entire blog system. ^^
