1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
Planned
and executed a three week backpacking trip through the United Kingdom,
Survived a terrorist attack, Lived alone in New Jersey for four months,
realized that I do have limits as to how much stress I can put myself
under.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Well,
my resolution last year was to not make any resolutions, so I think
that turned out successful. This year I'm resolving to give up sweets-
all of them- for the whole of 2006. I'm thinking this will be a bit
harder.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes
4. Did anyone close to you die?
By a degree, yes
5. What countries did you visit?
Scotland, England, Ireland, and the Paris airport.
6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
Less self-induced stress, the ability to accept things I cannot control, and more confidence.
7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
August 13th- my 21st birthday and buying a ticket for myself to see The Light in the Piazza which was amazing.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Probably making it through New Jersey more or less in one piece.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not realizing that it was okay to not do five million things at once.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
yeah, but some drugs fixed things right up. Huzzah for steroids!
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My cameras.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Kelly and Megan for putting up with me when I woke them up at appallingly early times to catch trains.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
George W. Bush and the Intelligent Design activists.
14. Where did most of your money go?
I think it was evenly divided between UK Trip 05 and trying to keep myself entertained in The Jersey.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Coming home from The Jersey.

spending time with people I care about

worrying about things I can't change/are so far in the future that worrying is unnecessary

From the sounds of it, listening to some Bluegrass and then playing in Suwanee's amazingly flat, treeless, park.
21 Did you fall in love in 2005?
I think that "falling" is a bad word for it- I fall too much, but not for that reason. Gravity just hates me.
22 How many one-night stands?
Standing all night-that would be tiring.
23 What was your favorite TV program?
Well, considering that I now own Sex and the City in its entirety, I'll go with that. Although, I must admit that watching America's Next Top Model while eating ice cream was a lot of fun too.
24.Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Yes-although
it's not so much hate as a strong sense of dislike mingled with pity
that this person is incapable of understanding what is and is not
appropriate to say out loud.

the ability to stand up for what I think is right

a penthouse on 5th Avenue....maybe next year.

Saw The Light in the Piazza, spent a lot of money at H&M, explored the Performing Arts Library and almost bought an alcoholic beverage because I was officially 21.

More confidence in myself.

Well, I think it was some thing like this: January-June: What is clean?
June-July: What is not wrinkled/dirty after being crammed in a backpack?
August-December: Business professional 9-5/Sweats 5:01-9
34. What kept you sane?
my
wonderful parents who listened to my endless phone rambling, and
Melissa who shoved Ben & Jerry's down my throat until I shut up.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
To fancy them would imply that I have some degree of respect for them.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The
way that Hurricane Katrina was handled. Also the whole mess with
Creationism/Intelligent Design vs. Evolution. Also the war. Also the
Oil crisis....also....well...all of them I guess.
37. Who did you miss?
A lot of people.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
There
were a few. Our friends in Edinburgh, the new turtles, the people in my
UCB improv class, Gen and Amy at Hatteras who made sure I experienced
local Manasquan bar-bingo at least twice before I left.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005.
Don't plan the future too much. By selling yourself too much on Tomorrow, you fail to realize that Tomorrow is not a given.
