A/N: No summary 'cause I absolutely FAIL at summaries. So yeah, I'm starting a new fic and completely neglecting my other one(s). Anywho, it's my first multichap done for an OTP (not to mention THE BEST OTP /coughcough). It's also been a while since I touched the fanfic scene, so it might be a bit rough around the edges. I'll probably post the next chapter next week (: Comments and concrits are ALWAYS welcome! Oh yeah, I know there actually might be a few typos, I didn't edit the spelling 'cause I fail, but with that aside, enjoy! ><
Chapter 1
The rain poured down heavily, people whipping out their umbrellas otherwise scurrying into nearby shelters. It drowned out all the sounds of loud chatter and cars splashed through the puddles. Though the streets were busy, Keito walked his own pace, repeatedly shoved aside as people ran to take cover. He shivered as the cool liquid fell upon him, engulfing his entire body in its cool touch. He had not thought of bringing along an umbrella, not even a sweater. He jammed his hands into his pockets, and fastened his pace. His teeth began to chatter from the cold, and people now took another glance at him as they all passed by him.
Soaked to the skin, he finally decided in taking refuge inside a dimly lit tea shop. A waitress looked over at him, taking in his appearance, then handed him a glass of water before disappearing behind the counter. Keito took a small sip from his glass, his bangs plastered to his forehead; the tips of them brushing the tops of his eyelashes. He hastily pushed the wet hair away and set his glass down. At last, the warmth of the shop seemed to thaw out his numb fingers and he slowly stopped shivering. This allowed him to finally take notice of his surroundings.
It was a small but quaint shop, a smooth counter at the front, with an assortment of cakes and pastries displayed neatly on little shelves placed on the right side of the shop. At first, he thought he was the only customer inside but then he noticed a tall and lean figure sitting a few tables away from him. He was turned to the front, his back facing him. Keito didn’t pay much attention to him and decided to let his glance skim through the shop once more. Then, his eyes caught a glimpse of the time: 8:30. Damn.
He realized that he was half an hour past his curfew and it was still pouring outside. He thought of calling a friend to pick him up, but then he remembered that they couldn’t drive. Maybe I should call my Dad. He contemplated the idea for a bit, but decided against it. His Dad would probably be asking all sorts of questions, either that or he’s too busy. Keito sighed glumly and stood up, making his way to the exit. He walked outside and felt the small drops pelt his skin. Then, the sensation disappeared in an instant, and a shadow fell over him. He looked around and saw a young man, with brown hair, well-built arms and wearing a jacket, holding an umbrella over himself and Keito.
“Figured you might need this.” The boy said with an obvious tone of politeness, but he held an air of mild irritation. Keito just looked at him speechlessly for a few moments before recovering with a nervous grimace.
“T-Thanks.” And so his teeth resumed their chattering. They stood there, staring at each other for what seemed like an eternity. Then the young man gave Keito a curt bow before heading back into the shop. He then walked to the end of the street, trying to determine how far he was from home. He looked around, and noticed a small catwalk he used everyday to get to school. Which means home’s right around the corner! Sighing with relief, he set off in a brisk pace around the corner, towards the catwalk.
The streetlights were on but large bushes and small trees gave the narrow catwalk a rather eerie look. Not looking up, Keito half-ran half-walked until the end of the shortcut, eager to get inside and dry off. He turned another corner and stood before his front door, fumbling with his keys. He stepped hurriedly into the front space of his home, dropping the umbrella in the metal can and went to the kitchen, where his father sat.
“You’re late.” He said, not looking up from his newspaper.
“S-Sorry. I g-got sidet-tracked.” Keito was still shivering, his clothes dripping with water.
“Ah well, I’m starved! Go get changed and let’s eat.” Keito nodded and ran up the stairs two steps at a time. He decided to run a bath after dinner and just changed into warm, dry clothes, grateful for the lack of questions.

Hikaru sat quietly in the tea shop, twiddling his thumbs, sipping his tea.
“Oi, is your shift almost over?!” He called loudly, and a voice emitted from the backroom in response.
“My shift ends at 9 dumbass! Why don’t you just go home now?” Hikaru glanced over his shoulder and looked out the window.
“Are you stupid? It’s freaking raining like there’s no tomorrow! I need a ride!” Then a waitress, who just so happened to be Hikaru’s sister, came out with her hands on her hips.
“Then stop whining and just wait for another half hour.” Hikaru rolled his eyes and resumed the twiddling of his thumbs. Then, the door opened and his sister hurried over to give the new customer a glass of water. She then disappeared into the backroom. She better be changing. He thought grumpily. He sighed and just stared at the clock. 8:25…8:26…8:27…8:28…8:29…8:30…Then there was the sound of tinkling bells, making Hikaru jump. At almost the same moment, his sister came out, still wearing an apron.
“Hey, where’d that guy go?”
“What guy?” Hikaru asked absent mindedly, not really caring.
“The customer! Oh look, he’s standing outside. Oh dear, I feel so bad…”
“Why the hell do you - hey!” His sister had dashed behind the counter and pulled out a clear, plastic umbrella.
“Give this to him.” She held out the umbrella out to him and looked expectant. He gave her an incredulous look.
“Why don’t you do it?!” Her brow furrowed.
“Just go! You’re wasting your time and my time, not to mention the poor guy’s time! We could’ve been in the car right now, but since you’re just so stubborn, we won’t get home until 10 at this rate and that guy is going to get pneumonia and-”
“FINE! I’m going I’m going!” He grabbed the umbrella and hurried off outside, opening it as he went. He held it over his and they boy’s head. It took a little bit until the boy looked around at him. Hikaru started to feel impatient and spoke first.
“Figured you might need this.” He said, with all the politeness he could muster. Stupid sister.
“T-Thanks.” The boy stammered. Then there was a small silence, where Hikaru momentarily forgot about his irritation towards his sister and a sudden curiosity burned inside him. The boy seemed to look just as intensely at him, making Hikaru blink in surprise. He quickly bowed and left him in the rain. He went back into the shop and leaned on the side of the entrance, watching his sister giving the counter one last wipe down. He thought about the boy and the curiosity came back. Was he new around here? Maybe he just didn’t notice him around. What was his name?
“You ready?” His sister asked, and he pushed himself off of the doorpost.
“I’ve been ready for hours, let’s go!” His sister rolled her eyes as he led the way out to the parking lot.
