Pairing: Hikaru x OC
Genre: Drama & Angst

A/N: YAAAAAAAY I'm back to writing fics again! Nao that I think about it, in August it'll be a year since I started, funny thing is my first multi-chapter was Yuto and an oc and it was around the time of his birthday that I wrote it. I was rather proud of that fic, ah well, if only L! was back up and running again, maybe I could get it back ): ANYWHO, I think I'll update each fic one by one, starting with this one. Love Hurts is considered a dead fic, but I could also say it's completed because of how I wrote the ending. Indecisive and Memories are being put on hiatus, 'cause, like I said, I'll be updating this fic for nao. Anywho, if you're still interested please read on! Or if you just tuned in, don't worry, you haven't missed much ><" OH YEAH, some parts are based on how I would react, but please don't think that I'm basing this character on myself! I just couldn't help it, cmon it was HARRY POTTER okay?! LOL well then, comments are always love ♥ My writing is a little sketchy, haven't done fanfics in a while, unless you count my Takayama drabble. ANYWHO, on to the chapter, enjoy!
Akira walked down the familiar streets, breathing in the crisp summer air. A warm breeze blew her blak hair behind her and she smiled a bit.
"O-HA-YO!" She jumped back and almost toppled over, but Hikaru grabbed her wrist and pulled her up in mid-fall.
"Heeeey, be careful! Jeez, you're such a klutz you know that?" Just as Hikaru said that, he had waved a seemingly airy hand and accidentally hit someone in the face.
"Ah! S-Sorry..." He bowed and scratched the back of his head.
"Ba-ka. And you call me a klutz. Anyway, what was the deal, jumping out at me like that?!" Akira asked incredelously, but Hikaru just rolled his eyes.
"What, can't I say a friendly'good morning' around here anymore? Is it not possible for me to be a gentleman? Hmph, ungrateful-- HEY!" Hikaru rubbed the side of his head and Akira stuck her tongue out at him. Hikaru attempted to hit her back but she was too quick.
"What? Can't hit a girl?" She teased as Hikaru lunged at her but ended up colliding with a nearby pole, causing him to fall backward. Akira roared with laughter while Hikaru got up and brushed himself off.
"Hmph. Well I was going to ask if you wanted to go see Harry Potter with me, but I think I'll ask Keito then, shall I?" He began to walk away but felt his leg being tugged.
"What the--?"
"NONOOMGPLEASEI'MSORRYTAKEMETAKEMEPLEASEPLEASEOHMYGODPLEASEOHOOODRAAAAAAAAAAACOOOOO..." Akira pleaded as Hikaru tried to shake her off.
"O-Okay fine! Gosh, I was just kidding! Do you mind?! People are staring!" Sure enough, a little boy began tugging at his mom's sleeve.
"MOMMY MOMMY! WOOK WOOK! WOOK AT THE KWUTZY MAN'S GULFWEND! SHE KWAAAAAZY!" Hikaru turned pink, just as Akira stood up and she appeared not to have heard the little boy.
"YAY! Harry Potter!" She clapped her hands together then swung an arm around Hikaru's shoulders, however she struggled a bit and ended up tiptoeing to reach his height.
"Jeez Hikaru, why so tall all of a sudden?" Hikaru smirked and patted her head.
"Maybe you're just too short." Akira laughed and the bickered playfully as they walked down the street.

Hikaru was still smiling the whole walk home. After the movie, he and Akira had sat down and ate some ice cream, paid for by a grumbling Akira. Then they hit the arcade and he was, unfortunately, defeated by Akira at DDR (Dance Dance Revolution). They were supposed to have a re-match the next day. I'll show her...Hikaru thought determindly to himself as he unlocked the door. His playful grin instantly slid off his face and was replaced by a frown as the stench of stale beer and sake reached his nostrils. The curtains were drawn and all but one lamp was shut off. A seemingly lifeless figure snored on the couch. Hikaru's jaw clenched as he quietly shut the door behind him. As he turned to go up the stairs, he felt a small tug.
"A-Aniki?" He looked down at his little brother and what he saw almost made him cry out.
"Oh my god Rei, what happened? Why aren't you with mom? When did he do this to you?!" Rei's bottom lip began ro quicer and Hikaru gently picked him up and slowly made his way up the stairs. He closed his door as quietly as possible, and as he set Rei down on his bed, he began to sniffle.
"I-I got home from school and d-dad said that m-mom d-didn't come t-to get me." He paused and Hikaru waited patiently, trying to avoid the large bruise on his little brother's cheek.
"T-Then, he t-told me to g-go upstairs a-and I d-did, but I accidentally k-knocked over the v-vase a-and...and..." At this point, Rei was shaking uncontrollably, putting all his efforts in muffling the noise of his crying. Hikaru sat down beside his brother and held him tightly.
"It's okay, I'll find you a place to go, okay? Somewhere...safe" The little boy in his arms clung on tighter and Hikaru felt nothing but helplessness.

Akira stepped into the comforts of her home, removed her shoes and walked into the kitchen.
"Tadaima!" She said brightly. Her mother looked up and smiled and her father nodded. Just as she was about to step out of the kitchen, her mother stopped her.
"Kira. There's...something your father and I have to tell you." Akira turned around and sat down at the dining table.
"Oh? What is it? Is something wrong?" Her mother looked excitedly at her father and her father smiled.
"I got promoted!" Akira beamed and got up and gave her father a hug.
"Congratulations! That's so awesome! Wait, so are we moving houses again?" Her father's grip slackened and Akira let go. The smiles on her parents faces were replaced by worried glances. They seemed to be avoiding looking directly at her.
"Yes, we are." Her father said rather solemnly. Akira was rather perturbed by her parent's sudden change of mood and tried to keep things bright.
"Okay. Well where are we moving? Is it another house in this area like last time? Or maybe we're closer to Hikaru?" She asked with as much enthusiasm as she could muster.
"Uh, well honey. That's the....catch." Her mother said slowly. Akira looked from her mother to her father.
"Catch? What catch? You said we were moving right?" She began and her father rubbed his forehead.
"When I say moving, I mean farther away." He said with a strained voice.
"Oh, well that's okay. If it's another town I can come visit Hikaru on the weekends then right? No sweat!"
"NO Kira, listen, we're not going to live here anymore." Her mother said in an exasparated tone.
"Well I got that since you said we were moving--"
"What we meant was that we're not going to live in Japan anymore."
