As the train rolled through the countryside, Bam took more notice towards the view outside of the window. Occasionally focusing on different things, his mind couldn’t comprehend how this much beauty could develop in one place. There was nothing even close to this in West Chester. Sure there were forests and woods and trees and stuff but nothing like this. No mountains, no lakes, no little delicate flowers that welcomed the sun with their bright colours.
Bam sighed contentedly which didn’t go unnoticed by his partner. Ville glanced up hearing the rush of air escape from Bam’s mouth and smiled warmly at him. Bam was relaxing, finally, which he swore he would not do on this holiday. No matter what Ville would do, Bam said that he would rather be skating and hurting himself again than be in a hotel which hadn’t heard of a skateboard. Ville couldn’t wait to prove Bam wrong.
Bam caught the movement across the table from him and turned his attention to the green eyed Finn. Bam didn’t know what to say or to even try to cover up his content sigh. Ville simply gave him a warm smile and place a bookmark in the page to continue reading later.
Both men looked calmly at each other and explored the others face with their eyes. Ville was so happy to be able to spend some quality time with Bam and Bam wanted Ville to wrap his arms around his cold body. Bam needed his teddy bear. The man who could make all his fears go away and who stroked his hair softly at night.
Ville saw the glaze appear over the sapphire eyes of Bam as he got more and more deep into his thoughts. Ville slowly picked up his book again and with one last smile to Bam, went back to being the book worm he was.
Bam was practically bouncing out of his seat with excitement. The other passengers in the coach were shooting funny looks at him like he was a five year old out of control. Ville couldn’t help himself but to sit back and giggle quietly as his partner had wide eyes and was kneeling up on the seat, hands on the window and panting heavily. As soon as Bam had heard the announcement that the train was five minutes away he had gone insane.
Ville was distracted from his book by Bam leaning over the table and whispering not-so-quietly, “Vil, did you hear that? We’re nearly here! Aren’t you excited? I am. Ville what will it be like?” in response to Bam’s erratic questions, Ville smiled and pushed Bam’s shoulder so he would sit properly back down.
The slow and steady movements of the train finally stopped as the carriage came to a halt. Bam immediately jumped up and threw his arms in the air, screaming, “We’re here!” Ville couldn’t hold it in any more, he burst into a fit of giggles much to the dismay of the many aged people tutting and scuttling off the train out of the nearest exit.
Ville frankly didn’t care what the other people thought, this was his little Bammie being excited. Going to a new place excited Bam just like it would have done if he was five years old. He raced around all the different places and stroke his fingers over textures and left Ville to grab the bags.
The pair finally found each other again after Bam had raced off the train with his one bag. Ville had a more subtle approach, and as the older of the two, he was calm and collected and proceeded to guide Bam to the exit of the platform after gathering their bearings and getting everything in order.
Thankfully for the local residents of the sleepy town, Bam had calmed down dramatically and now was just letting the odd ‘ooh’ or ‘aah’ slip at the attractions and monuments. Ville had enquired at the help desk about the whereabouts of the hotel and he was thankful to hear that just it was just across the road with only a short walk up the hill left to conquer
As Ville informed Bam about the location and the details of the hotel, Bam was hopping slightly on the spot, still showing his excitement but trying to keep it at bay. Like a protective mother, Ville grabbed Bam’s hand and they both began to walk the short distance to the hotel.
The pair walked calmly, crossing the fairly busy road carefully and making sure no luggage was left behind as they walked. Bam had taken some responsibility and had held some documents that would confirm they were to stay at the hotel. As the pair had no departure date in mind, they made sure all the clothes they could possibly need were packed neatly in the two large, black suitcases.
A tall and white house, covered in vines and pretty flowers came into view and the pair stopped and stared at the architecture of the building carefully. Even for Bam, whose job would remotely suggest that he might be interested in architecture, the building was magnificent and he just hoped that the decoration inside would match the appearance.
The entered the cool hallway and glanced around for the check in desk. The office on the left was chaotically organised with documents, folders, computers and cats everywhere. The sleek black cat sat on the filing cabinet quietly and watched the flustered secretary answer phones and type feverishly on the computer.
Bam and Ville quietly smiled at the woman and Ville coughed gently to attract attention to him and Bam. The woman gazed up and hurried over to the men and proceeded to check them in.
“Where is number 14?” Bam asked as he walked down the carpeted hallway busily checking each door for the said number. The pair had asked for the most lavish suite the hotel had and inadvertently the one that had the best view and the staff to wait on the hand and foot.
Bam found the door, still with his bags in hand and rushed to slide the key in and open the heavy wooden door. Ville trailed along behind, stopping at the paintings and gazing and the craftsmanship of each of the pictures and the surrounding objects. Ville wasn’t just impressed, he was mesmerized.
The door opened as Ville reached it and with Bam at his side, they both gasped in amazement at the room they would share happily together.
