spider pig, spider pig...
so this has been quite the interesting summer for me. it is the first summer that i have lived on my own, no one to tell me what i HAD to do at any given moment in time. and i can have people over whenever i want, for as long as i want. big YAY for that (ahhh....the simple things in life)!
what have i done this summer you ask? i will try to give the abriged version in order!
Memorial Day weekend - still in school (boo for not finishing in early may). this is the weekend that joe and i got engaged! big smiles all around, even tho' it preceded SOL testing at my school....
May 30 - June 4 - SOL testing (and very high levels of stress) at school. leads to a mini-breakdown for many teachers (including myself) who then show movies every day until school is over
June 13 - i finished one year of school! wahoo!
June 15 - i move into my own apartment! i can't believe i am living on my own!
beginning June 18 and going Monday through Thursday until August 16 - playing arts and crafts (say what? when was i ever crafty????) for HPRD one hour a day. i get covered in glitter, glue, sequins, etc and am running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get to the different sites every day...
end of June - chechnya comes to visit my humble abode. she is the first non-local friend to see my new place. we stayed up way past our bedtime and chit-chatted both nights, getting addicited to diamonds of atlantis. the trip also involved sun and an impromptu night trip to the beach for frolicking with cherie :o) it was a fantastic weekend.
Juny 4 - joe comes with me to my uncle's annual bash at his backyard pool. he had not met anyone on the kelly side of the family as of yet, and this day he meet 3 of my dad's brothers (and their spouses and kids) and my dad's 2 sisters and their spouses and kids. he also played volleyball with us and got the ball stuck in a tree (it was really funny, especially since the ball wouldn't come out no matter what we did!). i also met a lot of joe's extended family at his house....it was very nice.
beginning July 9 and going Monday through Thursday until August 2 - teaching 2nd grade reading at summer school. lots of fun because many of the bryan gang are there, and i love working with them. not so fun because of the additional stress of running from this job to the previously mentioned job on a daily basis.
thursday through yesterday - kathryn mary comes to visit! yay! i haven't seen that girl in so long. we talked about all things wedding related (squee). we also saw many commercials for the simpsons movie (spider pig, spider pig, does whatever a spider pig does....LOL i crack up every time i see it) - so we were randomly quoting the commercial daily. we also went to mass together last night and KM sang in the choir. little did she (or i) know, but we had a gospel choir visiting for our new pastoral associates installation and MAN were we rocking out gospel style! it was GREAT!
i am sorry i haven't kept up with this thing better but time is just not what it used to be.....there is much less of it, from what i can tell....
