My Kind of Mash-Up
It's no secret--I'm a hard core Gleek. Think about it--I write for young adults, I take and teach dance and I sing really loud in the shower and other more embarrassing places. Did I mention that I'm not really a singer? I usually gloss over that because I don't care, it makes me happy.
I've even been to the Glee concert and of course I sang really loud, but I was in good company...
Yes, it was awesome, but I digress. I'm trying to talk about Mash-ups, a term I first heard on the show. On Glee they take two or more songs, mash them together and come up with a unique spin on music I already love. Let me show you...
Then I got thinking about it and realized that mash-ups have been around for a really long time.
So I thought, since I have lots of awesome things to share with you today...*drum roll* You got it! You're getting my kind of a mash-up.
First up. I've joined the Apocalyspsies!!!! This is a group of children's authors who have a debut book in 2012. Our motto is...Read 'em like there's no tomorrow. Stop by and check out all the amazing books that will becoming your way in 2012. You can even see my debut post.
Speaking of the Apocalypsies...Gretchen McNeil just shared the fabulous cover for her debut novel POSSESS. Even though Gretchen is an Apocalypsie, her book release date was pushed up to August 23, 2011. I'm thinking that's because it's so awesome. ((((hugs)))) You can pre-order your copy to find out.
