We did it again!
My time was not as good as last year but I'm just so happy I committed to doing the race
in memory of my cousin Sam (who passed away from Cystic Fibrosis in June) and that I finished. I'm also happy my mom was there to do it too.
In the stairwells there were all of these "In Memory of..." posters for folks who had passed away from various lung diseases. I made one for Sam and it was at the 40th floor (the last flight). Mom and I looked at each other and wanted to cry but we were both so out of breath we couldn't. I'm happy Sam's poster was on the top floor, it kept me looking forward to seeing her face throughout the race. I miss her so much and know she was smiling down at us yesterday.
Race stats: 463 KIM KEOUGH 86/102(Division) QUINCY, MA QUIT STAIRING 13:31
Also, my chest still hurts and I have a nasty wheeze. Better than a lung disease, so I am thankful. I am proud of my team, Quit Stairing! (Mom, John, Mark, Tim, Katie, & Keith), and the American Lung Association for doing such good work.
