is ridiculous right now. In the midst of all the ridiculousness that IS being a second-semester senior, I have managed to be blessed in so many ways.
David Fucking Cook. I saw him live. LIVE. I don't care what people say about the Valpo show being too short or lame or what-the-fuck ever. it was MY show, my chance to see him.
I made a sign that said "Pretty Please-- 'Lie' to Me". Guess what? He DID. He stood there, and smiled at me, and sang TO ME, and I was dead. And then, what does he do but Kiss on the Neck, the song Lee and I were OMGDYING for him to do. And then, THEN, he does Breathe Tonight. There were um, not many people singing it. Like, there was a decent amount, but in comparison to the other songs, it wasn't as insane, obv because it was limited release. And so Lee and I, two loud-as-all-hell Latinas in matching levels of bright-ass pink maybe fifteen or twenty feet from the stage are rocking out and singing along. So if you watch video of BT from Valpo, that section to his left he keeps looking at? Yeah, that's us.
Did you see video of his banter? If you did, you MAY have heard him read a little sign saying "I'm Burning for Silver"
Yeah, uh. THAT WAS LEE'S SIGN, OKAY. He read it, and Neal played the first three or four notes quietly, and Lee DIED.
We're going to skip ahead, to the time right after the concert when I met RYAN STAR. He was the sweetest person EVER, and gave me the most epic hug I've ever had to date, and took a picture with me, and signed my Lie to Me sign. And what does he say when he sees it?
Oh hey, you know what Lie to Me is?
Yeah, it's that new show on Fox, right?
Mmmmmmhmm! I, uh, wrote the theme song! It was one of the ones I performed tonight, actually.
You can see why I've decided this was fate. And then he promised [sealed with a hug!] to give mine and Lee's impromptu request to Cook.
I have to go soon, so I am going to leave you with three comments, with picture evidence.
1. Andy Skib's eyes are absolutely ridiculous, and he is unbelievably sweet and just.... yeah!
2. I never really paid attention to Joey Clement. I now regret that 304985348900 times over, because, no fucking lies, he is probably the sweetest person known to mankind. And, he hugs REALLY TIGHT OKAY.
3. This man is the love of my life thus far. We may not have gotten an autograph or hug, but I would not exchange our tiny, ridiculous banter with him [including but not limited to my *looks up and down* really? REALLY?! over his worrisome lack of coat] for anything, because it's something with a personal touch that not everyone gets from the run-of-the-mill autograph and hug. even though I would kill for those, too. =]
I believe he was doing Popeye face by the way, which is um, my nickname so I get an extra twisted pleasure out of that *^_^*
So yes. Valparaiso made my LIFE, okay. I got signatures from Ryan Star, Joey Clement, and Andy Skib. I saw Neal Tiemann and saw him smoking with security guards, haha, and he is ridiculously more sexy in person. Considering I already wanted to jump him with mere pictures and video.... yeah.
I have no words for David Cook. You could ask me in three years and I still probably wouldn't be able to articulate.
So, just know that what you see is what you get. He is unbelievable, and my love for him has only managed to grow.
