So I went to Richmond, VA a few weeks ago, to visit my absolute favorite people in the Dirty South, Pamela and Anthony and their daughter Kelly AKA "The Lollipop Molester"...I was at Logan Airport in Boston, enjoying a frosty cold Heineken when I realized that I did not have a napkin. I stood to get one at the bar, and saw a guy sitting there wearing a Team Canada hat. So I ask him if he's from Canada...he is. He joins me at my table and we get to chatting...turns out he's an Oilers fan....which if you know me, is a huge NO in my book...(GO FLAMES GO)...When I tell him I'm a Flames fan, he gets super excited...."You HAVE to meet my friend Johnny. You totally have to." He proceeds to pick up his phone and call this Johnny. Johnny is sitting in the airport in Calgary at the same time Kevin and I were in Boston. Kevin tells him that he's met this girl, and she (me) is a Flames fan. Then he hands the phone to me. Kevin has neglected to tell me that his girlfriend is ALSO named Kim, but goes by Kimmy...so Johnny assumes that I am Kimmy, Kevin's girlfriend. Hilaity ensues...
But wait, there's MORE!
After Kevin got back from Scotland and I returned from Virginia, Kevin calls me and tells me that I should come up to Dover, NH where he lives and meet Johnny. So I go. Why, I have NO idea. Turns out, it was the best decision I've made in a LONG time...
Johnny is amazing. Within minutes, I knew that this kid was perfect for me. Loves hockey, and actually wants to GO to games...he's funny, and sctually UNDERSTANDS my random Dane Cook references...He's from Fort Saskatchewan, which is near Edmonton, but he totally redeems himself by being a Flames fan...he's unreal...
I've spent the past few weekends, including my birthday, hanging out with him, Kevin and Kimmy, and Johnny's roommates Ben and Amber...We don't get to see each other much, cause he lives in Manchester (eew, also he's a Monarchs fan, and he seems to think that I will be this season too....i don't THINK so...I'm a Lowell girl, no matter what they're called) and he works a million hours...like this week, and last, he's in Vermont...but he's home on the weekends...which is good.
He even braved the whole family last weekend for Nana's birthday. He passed the JOE test too. My dad likes him because he drives a big pick up truck (that still has Alberta plates...gotta love it). Mom likes him because he makes me smile. :) Julie likes him cause she likes his accent. I like him cause he's just amazing.
AND he wants to move back to Canada soon. As long as I can go with, things will be perfect.
Sigh....and that was my glowy description of life right now....god, I feel like a giggly schoolgirl.
