So it's now my third day in the dorms. Oh joy. Kirstin has moved in as well and we somehow managed to make everything fit. I haven't really met anyone else here, other than the people I already know from high school and church. Most of the people on my floor (notice, I didn't not say girls, because this is a coed dorm - yuck and weird) seem to be freshmen. They also assume that we are freshmen. We're thinking about posting a sign outside our door stating the truth. We'll see. I just hope our floor's population of freshmen don't take to drinking. One, it means I get less sleep, and two, it may make ministry harder.
Jamie was home this weekend, and it was so nice to be able to spend time with him.Friday we made dinner for ourselves and then we watched a movie with my parents. Or rather, my mother and I made Jamie and my dad watch a chick flick. :) Saturday Jamie helped me move in. I wouldn't have been able to do it without him. After my parents came to help me set up the loft, we all went out for dinner. Later, Jamie and I came back to my new room for some down time. Well, kind of. I unpacked and he studied. I didn't have a tv yet. Sunday we went to church together. That was so nice. I haven't been to church with Jamie in ages. Then I went over to his parents house and had lunch with his family and the family of the new city police chief. It was fun, but I just realized how weird that sounded. So I guess now not only am I friends with the city fire chief, but I know now the city police chief. :) Yep. weird. I did realize, though, that I really enjoyed it. I'm thinking really futuristicly and everything, but if Jamie ever becomes a fire chief like his dad, I'm going to enjoy meeting all the city officials and everything. But yeah. That's really far off in the future. I need a ring first.
Anyway, Kirst and I are going to head out to the store to get some last minute things for our room. Please think of me, all. And call me if you're not too busy.
