So finally, after 10 days, I escaped the gravitational pull of Granada and find myself in Valencia. I still miss Granada though, the friends I made there and just the city in general. It´s so beautiful! I love how you can walk for 5 minutes and randomly come across a breathtaking viewpoint. Living in the mountains does that I guess. I would sit on a wall and listen to music and savour being up so high when I wanted to be away from the crazy social network that was the hostel. And the arabic influence... sitting in a tea shop smoking shisha and chatting with people... I bought one of the arabic tea pots and sent it home. Now I can have a tea pot when I move out!
It was really strange to get so close with people in just 10 days. Like seriously. It was a tight-knit group. A couple of them were moving into Granada for school, a couple of others just got apartments because they thought they would travel and then decided to stay. Had I a month, I would have rented an apartment and taken a spanish course. I dunno, you make hostel acquaintances when you travel but I feel like making legitimate *friends* is a lot more rare.
Augh I am getting all sentimental. But I just had so much fun! I ate a million kebaps and tapas and drank too much and now I am detoxing in Valencia, a city apparently known for it´s nightlife. Whoops!
I came to Valencia with Hana, a climber from Boulder, Colorado that I met in Granada. We took a night bus which was... interesting, and wandered around Valencia in the rain, getting completely lost. It´s nice to be travelling with someone for a change!
