Today, Kalina and I went on a quest for the ocean, and found the most magnificent place!! There is an island out to the north of Edinburgh that you can walk to when the tide is low, with lots of bird life. Cramond island, it is called. The tide was already low when we got there. It was wonderful, there was this mile long sandbar that you could walk across, and there were all these cement triangular structures beside the path, I guess to mark where the path is for boats when the tide is high. So it was this flat, sandy expanse littered with puddles, and these triangular structures every meter or so, and you could see the coastline for miles as it ran out into the sea. And you could see arthur's seat in the distance back in the city, and Firth on the other side of the bay, and the bridge, and the island. You could just see for miles. And the sun was strong and the ocean was a cobalt blue sparkling in the distance.
Being the brilliant folk that we are, both Kalina and I forgot our camera. Also, we didn't have much time to explore the island as the tide was due to come up soon, and we didn't want to be trapped there. We did go shell hunting though, and found some beach glass and interesting rocks.
