I really would hate for this journal to turn into just Kimi's Moaning Corner but urrrrrrrrrrrrgh.

I ordered this poster for Josh. I saw it and I thought "Wow, that would make a really nice Christmas present." It was in my price range and I thought, okay - let's do this. This poster, designed well and very geeky would look good on Josh's currently bare bedroom wall.

The poster was ordered around the first week of December and it was shipped around the second week due to the time it took to be manufactured and such. It could have arrived just after Christmas and all would be good, but I'm guessing due to the snow it got delayed to just after the new year.

Josh was out at work yesterday when the package arrived. To be honest, I was pretty excited because the design company that shipped it out gave me a definitive date and I was all ready to go buy some wrapping paper and ribbons from the local supermarket.

I didn't answer the door when the postman arrived, but there was a note saying that it was in a cupboard beside the house. Normally there's just broken boxes in there and I thought it would be easy to spot.

You know there's a problem when you can't actually spot a package amongst a bunch of broken boxes.

I'm damn sure that this wasn't the condition it was sent in.

Now I'm sorry - Parcelforce, the courier service that delivered it have destroyed a cardboard poster tube and the rectangular box that the tube was shipped in. They've managed to do that and still managed to remain unculpable for their actions by saying because it was shipped from overseas, you can't actually tell where the damage happened.

Nevermind the fact that it was shipped from Switzerland - they're the Swiss! They run like clockwork and the same goes for their postal service. I've had packages from Switzerland before and none of them arrived like that.

I was so upset by this, I spent the entire day feeling miserable and weeping every now and again, if only because the one Christmas present I wanted to give Josh was completely ruined by those Postalforce wankers. I even called my mother while in tears - yes, I called my mother because I was that upset. I never call my mother.

Never before have I wanted to denounce an entire corporation for being so underhanded and profiteering - oh, we'll deliver it but not in the condition it was sent.

Josh was very gracious about the whole deal though, but still. I feel really bad because he got me a really nice present (Super Scribblenauts for the DS, and some other thing which he's not telling me just yet.) and yet my big present for him got completely ruined... /sigh

I've asked the company to send another poster over, hopefully it won't get battered this time. They were just as shocked as I am, they couldn't believe that it got completely wrecked like that. It must have hurt them more than me, because it's their work and it was just beat up with complete disregard for its value.

I was told not to be sad, but I can't seem to help it. Although it's more a gesture than any meaningful sign, I did put a lot of thought and effort in choosing Josh's present and it got completely fucked at the last hurdle.

Addendum: I've got four months without adobo. This is a new record and needs to be rectified immediately. No wonder I've been in a bad mood. I may need to search for it sometime.

holidays, josh, :(
