Thanks to everybody who gave me snowflake cookies, they're really cute and I like looking at them :D I tried sending a few out but LJ for some reason wouldn't let me. :( I dun like LJ at the moment, it's not being nice to me.

My paid account and usericons ran out a while back and I'm going to renew them in the new year but I'm really debating whether I need a 100+ usericons or I can live with... hm, less than that. I probably could live with less than that. I could probably even live with the normal paid user account amount of user icons because the problem with having fucktons of icons is that some of them grow stale and you don't really use some of them and have some of them only for the sake of having them... or am I thinking about this too much?

Going home this Saturday, and I am looking forward to good food and warm weather. I mean, I love England but the food here is horrendous. Seriously, it is hard to find affordable Japanese food around here and that gets me more than anything. A lot of the Chinese is overcooked take away stuff and not some of the lovely Chinese food I've had the privilege of having back in Manila. A lot of the Italian is passable with pseudo-Italian places like Bella Italia and Pizza Express not having a bad selection but (apologies Richard) there is only so much pizza and pasta and Italian food in general one can take. I mean, I don't mind it every now and again but last year, the nearest decent restaurant to Josh's place was a Bella Italia. And we found ourselves eating there quite a number of times.

(And before anyone mentions Indian food... sorry, I'm not really into Indian food in general. :( I've had it in the past but it's just too spicy for me a lot of the time and there is rarely anything I can eat besides chapatis.)

I do enjoy going out and having a nice meal; being a foodie doesn't help things too much so being in the middle of nowhere like York kills me slightly in that respect - a quaint English tourist city doesn't do much for me. :( YOU CAN'T EAT YORK MINSTER, YOU CAN JUST LOOK AT IT.

That's why I can't wait to get home and I've already planned what things I'm bringing back to survive. :p I'm glad for the Asian grocery here though - it makes my life a little bit easier that I can easily get soy sauce and sugar cane vinegar.

God, the thing I'm most looking forward to when I get back home is the food. But then again missing my family and friends is pretty much a given.

I'm kinda spoiled living in The Philippines - spoiled with lots of lovely food of different cuisines from around the world. Seriously, Filipinos love to eat and that's the reason restaurants can thrive. And then there's people like me, my mother and my father who are good food people and who go looking for it (albeit our idea of good food differs slightly to one another - my dad likes curry and Indian food, my mom is a Francophile with a taste for spiciness and I like savoury foods and I am not ashamed to admit that I like going to SM Megamall's food court because the food is cheap and it's not bad at all in some stalls ahahaha.)

I'll probably write more later since just thinking about eating in The Philippines is making me hungry, haha.

holidays, food
