this is so funny
some amazing/weird things that my intern friends and i witnessed this week:
- we were eating at a 路边摊 when the cops came and chased the hawkers away. ehh they are not really cops because they don't actually catch them, but only asked hawkers to stop whatever they were doing. some of them really pack up quickly and ran!! however the guy who was bbq-ing our food just continued because he said he should finish serving us as we were waiting. HAHA, it was quite hilarious actually.
- 2 days ago while our colleague went to top up his oil tank en route sending us back to the hostel, we saw a public bus at the oil kiosk. all of us were wondering that it was a weird time to go top up oil for a public transport. and do they even top up at a public kiosk?! you know what's the weirdest thing? there were actually passengers on the bus! how amazing is that? i doubt you'll meet with such situation in singapore.
- yesterday we went to have dinner at a nearby eatery. we were happily eating when the lights suddenly went out! wow, short circuit i think. so all the workers were busy finding out what's the problem and trying to solve it when the boss realised the couple sitting beside the door was missing, only to be replaced by another man. OOOOOO.. the couple ran off without paying while everyone wasn't looking! so naughty, HAHA!!
anyway today's a good day because i just got my pay and my funding money is safely in my bank account. we're going to have good japanese buffet tomorrow, with free flow drinks including sake and umeshu (plum liqueur), i can't wait! it's been so long since i had good food. i can so feel that my stomach is lined with a layer of oil and dirt and whatever nonsense from all the small dubious eateries near my workplace.
ahhhhhhhhhhhh. good clean food, here i come!
