Shanghai Science and Tech Musuem

Jun 14, 2009 14:59

last sunday, i went to the science centre in Shanghai, 上海科技馆 because it was vv near the place i'm staying and the other interns were saying that the shops nearby sell cheap clothes and accessories. immediately after we came up from the mrt station, we were greeted with a super hugeeee building. it's looks damn impressive la, nice!

too bad we were university students because sec and pri sch students can enjoy half price off. i think the entrance fee we paid was rmb90, not very sure. we were contemplating whether we should buy tickets for imax show but decided to go look at the exhibition first.

the first stop was animal world. all looks very real, i think dont hafta go shanghai zoo already.

feels as though i'm watching Lion King.

totally reminds me of my sis. we always tease her and said her zodiac's goat and she'll always deny and said it's lamb.

after we had enough of the wild life, we moved on to look at some reptiles and butterflies.

some random flower that was rotting but amazingly it lks quite nice on my camera. i think i'm pro.

eeyer.

there were 2 turtles living in the tank and the water was filled with moss, damn dirty.

the different species of butterflies that were showcased were quite pretty but i wish there were more colourful ones. most of them were orange, yellow, brown, white, quite dull ah. no brighter coloured ones meh, like bright pink?

ceiling of the butterfly place. it doesnt lk that nice in the photo. i think it was nicer in life, tt's why i hate flash.

then we went to look at robots.

this was actually an archery competition between human and a machine. lks damn easy but it's nt la. must pull damn hard den the arrow will fly straight and far, otherwise it will be damn cui. the first one i shoot sorta skidded to the flr and ppl queuing behind me burst out laughing, some paiseh pls!

looking pro here. HAHA

the robot that played the piano while ppl sing, damn lame. i thought it was able to play the tune of whatever you sing but actually it's programmed alr. like if you choose twinkle twinkle little stars, the person will input the song den the robot will just play.

random fish. the whole tank was filled with it la, damn ke lian. not much space for them to swim around. i wonder why they wanna cram all the fish inside the tank even though it looks quite pretty in photos.

showcase of random extinct birds.

arteries of leg. this reminds me of my bro tt's why i took it, haha!

spaceshipssss.

this is the view of whats outside the science centre from a corridor outside one of the exhibition hall. shanghai is like permanently foggy coz the air sucks.

after we had a late lunch/early dinner, we went to a park near the science centre. shanghai has a lot of random parks everywhere and the flowers are really colourful and pretty. there were a lot of ppl flying kites too, i'm gonna try it too some other time!

the blue thing is the mascot for shanghai expo 2010, "海宝". no idea how they got this mascot but the english name of it is "Lucky China".

outing, friends
