Hello my fellow peepz~! :)

It's been officially over half a year since I've posted anything worth posting, actually including things such as fics. I don't want to say that I'm in a hiatus because then I'd just be lying to myself and to all of you. I've done a fic contest recently, so when the results come out I'll definitely post up what I've submitted. :)

Anyway, this isn't about me, it's about JYJ's "Their Rooms Music Essay" and Homin's "Keep Your Head Down" albums. So I got KYHD for almost a month now, but I just waited to review it until JYJ's new album came out. Now before you start thinking that I'm going to bash the other album while praising the other, but quite honestly, I really like both albums. So to start off, I took a couple of pics of both albums as an overview.

I honestly didn't want to loosen up the binding on the Keep Your Head Down (KYHD) album, so that's why the last picture is kind of wtf? :) I'll touch the appearance and presentation of both albums. I'm not keeping score, so neither should you lol. Since I started off with JYJ's Their Rooms album, I'll start my review from there. The presentation itself is pretty..... how do you say this? Ideal and perfect for me? It's a bit pricey at $40 for a planner, but hey- I'm kind of a TVXQ hoarder like that. The thing I like the most about Their Rooms (TR) is that it's a freaking planner and time table thing that I can actually use. I know people don't want to write in it because they basically want to preserve its original state and I get that. That's why I bought two copies of this and I'm certainly glad I did. I really like how this album is versatile and one that I can actually use. I like staring at my beloved guys while copying what I need for my next English essay or what's going to be on my Anthropology class. I like it. It kind of keeps me sane. I've even started writing in it already~! :)

The pictures are gorgeous by the way and I love how they insert bookmarks/to do lists with a ruler. I thought that was pretty cool. The only things I don't especially like about it is the thickness of the album essay? I know I shouldn't even be complaining about too much content but I feel that they could have maybe separated the planner with the essay or I don't know- it's just a little too bulky for me to carry, especially with my other books that I have to bring up the campus as well. The other thing is that the cd holder, well it's attached to the whole package and I would have liked it to be... removable of some sort.

Other than that- this was a pretty packaged album.

KYHD presentation and appearance review: My first thought when receiving this was "God damn that's huge!" Honestly. I'll compare it with my standard college textbook.

 .
Yeah it's that huge and the cd holder as well is glued to the album package so it's kind of hard for me to carry around when I want to listen to it. To be honest, I didn't really look at the photos in KYHD mainly because I don't want to bend the bind and I still want to keep it in tact. I love the idea of an album with a photobook and it's always tempting to get them. Most of their albums I got was with a photobook, so it's pretty much a given that when they release albums with photobooks, I will certainly buy them. As I said I'm a TVXQ hoarder and when I buy their merchandise I usually just stock it up on my shelf closet and it just gets displayed. That is exactly what this album is doing as of now. I don't really like the idea of stocking up albums and merchandise just to stare at it for a second and admire how much I've actually collected then I eventually move on with my day. I would have liked a little more from this album, being that it cost $45 but it is a full album and when it comes to my ultimate bias that is Yunho, I will surely not complain.

This was an extremely pretty album and better yet with the songs, so I'll go ahead and review the songs on both albums.

Their Rooms: My favorite track on this album is....Mission! It's absolutely gorgeous. I love the beat and the dance moves. The funky english makes me giggle and it's just super awesome.  The ballads especially nine and pierrot are wonderful and Jaejoong's voice makes me melt. ToT. I wouldn't particularly take out any of the tracks consisted in this album. It's all very wonderfully arranged and it's an overall good album. It needs a little polishing, but with the album already awesome, a few teaks can seemingly be unnecessary when it's this good. I'm not going to give a grade, I'll just say I love the album and the songs and I really like what they're presenting to their fans and to the world.
Keep Your Head Down: My favorite track on this album is..... SHE! It's just very pretty to the ears and I like the lyrics. :( Mmmm... I'm just really in love with the two boys in the song and I wish they'd sing it to me :) I honestly thought I wouldn't like their songs as much I would like JYJ's because I really tend to be biased with Jaejoong's and Junsu voices over Homin's but boy did they blow me away. Maximum and Wae are on constant replays while I drive to the campus and I'm really liking Crazy. Honey Funny Bunny is just a good beat and I'm liking the song as well. If I were to take out one song from this album, I would prefer to not have Our Game in the album because I just don't feel the song. It's.... sounds messy with an autotuned chorus and rapping in the verses with- it's just, out there. Overall though, I really really really like the songs on the album, it's very well put together and their voices mesh well with each other. I also like how there's a variety of ballads, dance songs, and pop - so there's something that's different and it doesn't make me feel bored while listening to the songs.

All in all, both of these albums are pretty fresh and hot. I love both of these albums and I'm glad that they haven't bowed down to their juniors and became the DBSK that we've all known ever since. Even though some of the genres are quite different, there's still the distinct sound that makes me want to listen to both of these albums over and over again.
