READIIIING!
Finally I am sitting down to write a well-demanded post and seeing as most of my summer has consisted of working what else is there to write about other than READING!!!!! :D Oh what an eventful weekend.....
To start off, our train got canceled *sob* not a good way to start the weekend..... When we finally got to the festival, it took us a good long while to actually find our way IN (us being oh so clever), swiftly followed by someone trying to steal our tent right out of jays hand, arent people just awesome? :P After 45 minutes of walking we finally found a spot to camp in the farthest camp from the stage, which despite scottish bints with verbal diarrhea throughout the night, turned out to be the best/cleanest/safest campsite there! Shame about the lumpy ground....lol!
Pretty lame that the sound during Serj was poor at best with his mic not even being ON when he started singing, but I didnt let that get to me, he was still awesome because hes Serj and he wears a tophat :) With the mainstage being pretty rubbish for a while we went to lockup to see Goldfinger who had a pretty awesome crowd reaction, I dont even know their songs but even I was jumping! Back to mainstage Queens were absolutely dire! Sooooo dull, if it werent for Rage Id have gone back to the camp! Luckily Rage made up for it though, I cant remember the last time Ive seen such an active crowd, Im not honestly their biggest fan but I was impressed! I think Jay got moist in the pants.......strike that, he DEFINATELY did!
Saturday just having such an awesome lineup we went into the city centre to get some food, JOHN LEWIS FTW! (just because we are hardcore doesnt mean we cant enjoy a couple of pots of tea!). Then went off to have a pub lunch.....which didnt really go to plan as silly Jay didnt bring any ID :P Upon arriving back to the campsite and about to catch the boat we were told that the campsite was being evacuated because some silly people set fire to some cars witha BBQ! As you may imagine I didnt react too well to that after everything else.... Luckily BFMV were suprisingly awesome and we made friends with two half naked hairy moshers :)
Sunday thus made the whole weekend shoot up to the realm of epicness :D Met up with our good buddy Tim who will be found at any gig no matter where or when! Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold cancelling sucked, especially when replaced with the atrocities Bring Me the Horizon and MSI! But it didnt spoil it. Finding a spot by the barriers so even a smalls could see and staying their for 7 hours without budging allowed us to see such jewels as Dropkick Murphys, Tenacious D and of course....METALLICA! All of which put on absolutely epically, drippingly delicious performances of awesomesauce!! People bitched about not being able to see through Jay but screw them, we waited there all day so nerrrr :P Though of course he was a very popular boy over the weekend!
End on.... if you see someone carrying a yellow and black pinstripe flag, assrape them with a chainsaw, the bastard blocked our view for nearly every show!
