Laurel Fabric Combos

(Cross posted from my main blog: http://www.kimiko1.com/blog/?p=286)

I did find one more silk fabric that I had enough to use, but it is such a raspberry color that I'll pass for this project. Bess has also been willing to look this weekend for some special fabrics in the UK that may work, as she's close to a special fabric store/mill place.

So, while I wait for those samples to arrive, I took a couple more photos that show fabric combos, and thought I'd share those here. Of course, the photos are not quite the same in color as what I see with my eyes, but close.

I also took a few sample swatches to lay onto the gold & red damask, to see what might work as a sleeve lining since it will be visible. The three I chose were the best of the six or so I started with, and are all velvet/een. Sadly, the silk/rayon velvet I have came out too brown in comparison, so it was out. This photo was taken under an Ott light for better color quality.

I just realized I should have done similarly for the dark blue & gold damask, but that I can do tomorrow.

Ok, now back to trying to get my scanner to talk to my computer, so I can scan the embroidery pattern woodcut to manipulate in size for a sample transfer.
