I spent the morning with IV therapy. I thought I would follow around some lady and go around to wherever she was needed. It didn't work like that. Instead, I was taught how to insert an IV catheter by using a rubber arm. Then she took me down to the pre-op area and had me start IVs on actual people. I was like, holy shit! Luckily she stood right by my side and guided me along, but I wasn't expecting to stick a bunch of people. She asked the nurses if there were any patients who needed IVs started. I wanted to run far away. After I blew a man's veins twice (not as bad as it sounds), I was reading to scream. I thought for sure the IV therapist would kill me. But she kept on having me stick people, telling me this kind of stuff happens. So I stuck a couple more people with no problems. Then I left and smoked.
