The mods made
a new post over at KTLove and
it somehow sparked a discussion about the uploading of leaked media before a release date and how, apparently, some fans are annoyed by that and think it's unfair. Or something.
I'm not sure I totally understand what they want to ban. I mean, if Kame plays a song from the new album on his radio show, then obviously he wants fans to listen to it, so I don't see why it's a problem if that mp3 is shared. I mean, can you imagine if the record industry (in any country) didn't allow songs from a CD to be played on the radio/TV/anywhere until the actual CD was released?! Nobody would buy the album!
So, flist, I'm curious. What do you think about all this?
Should uploads of stuff be allowed before a release date? Or should there be a restriction such as waiting a week after a release for the material to be shared? Should it all be banned? Does leaking such media encourage or discourage fans from buying stuff. If you by a CD, do you think it's unfair that others can get the mp3s of it for free?
Discuss. ^__^
For the record,
yorokobi_no_uta will always allow such uploads. It's just too bad nobody bothers to upload anything to that comm. T_____T
