"Woodward Academy in Atlanta recently sent a letter to parents urging them to talk with their kids about MySpace and other social networking sites. Like most schools, Woodward has blocked access to MySpace from its campus.

Hank Payne, Woodward's president, said the school also sent a letter to MySpace and facebook.com, which caters more to college students but is expanding its reach among high schoolers, asking them to take the Woodward name off of their sites. Both sites use school names to identify students.

"First and foremost we are concerned about the students' safety," Payne said. "But we are also concerned about the reputation of the school." "
