(no subject)
So, I am unemployed.
And also sunburned.
Promotion was yesterday. Outside. It was just about as hot as the surface of the sun. I was sweating just sitting in a folded chair. I was in a hurry when I left for school and forgot my sunscreen. I really, really should have asked someone for some. I did put put sunscreen on my face, so that's ok. But my arms, chest, and neck are burnt. Yay.
Promotion took dang near forever. One of the student speeches took forever. It was nice and thoughtful and made me a tad weepy when she said they were now the class of 2013. Then they read the names of all the promoting students and they shook the hands of the principal, AP, and members of the school board. I'm pretty sure there were about 300 students. That's a lot of names to sit through. *sigh*
Then I helped sign out students and hand out promotion certificates. All this took about 3 hours. I think if I'd stayed out there any longer I would have had heat stroke if I hadn't gone back to my classroom. Luckily I'd put a bottle of water in my fridge. I brought some stuff home, but still have to go back. *sigh*
In other news, I didn't get that job I interviewed for. Bummer. It really would have been nice to open a new school and transition with the students into high school. However, I really do want to stay in middle school. Specifically I want to teach 6th grade. Someone please make that happen, k?
