Scared But Optimistic

Holy crap. A lot has been happening to me lately. I wish I could say it was all good stuff, but I don't seem to have that kind of luck.

As you know, if you have been reading my LJ, I'm pregnant. Last Monday I was at work and I started bleeding really badly. Luckily there was an extra employee at work that morning so I was able to just say I had an emergency and needed to leave. I really started freaking out though. I was worried that I was having another miscarriage. I called up Chris and started crying. He told me to head up to the emergency room by my work and he would be there soon. My work is only about 5 minutes away from the University of Utah Hospital so it didn't take too long to get up there. I really didn't find out a lot after almost 6 hours up there except that the baby was still alive.

The doctor that took care of me in the emergency room told me to get an appointment with my regular obstetrician as soon as possible. She also told me that I wasn't supposed to lift anything heavy or do anything too stressful. She said that staying in bed was probably a good idea.

Normally, it would have been just kind of a bummer. But the next day was Chris's and my anniversary. Total crap. Last year on our anniversary was when I had a miscarriage. So I was worried that it was going to be a repeat.

I managed to get an appointment with my doctor on Wednesday and I actually got a whole lot more information on what was going on. Basically I have two sections to my uterus. So the baby is hanging out on one side and I was bleeding from the other side. The doctor just wants me to take it really easy, so I am on orders to take it really easy until my next appointment on February 8th.

I talked to my boss and I'll be taking the time off from work to just concentrate on staying healthy and away from work stress. He was totally fine with it so that's one thing off my mind.

Chris had a doctor's appointment on Friday because there were some small, strange lumps forming on a birthmark he has. His mom was able to take him to the appointment and the lumps were removed and sent off to a lab. So now we are just waiting to hear back from the lab on what the lumps are.

Yesterday Chris and I finally got to celebrate our anniversary! We have been married for 8 years now. It's kind of hard to believe that it has really been that long. It just doesn't feel like it. We went to Rodizio and it was delicious as always. It was good to get out since I had been cooped up in the house for almost a week.

I'm planning on going to club this week so I'll see a bunch of you later this week. I'm also looking forward to Heroes starting again tonight. I love that show.
