CONduit
Well, CONduit is this weekend. That's a local sci-fi/fantasy convention here in Utah. There is a small part of it dedicated to Anime and I'm on a couple of the Anime related panels. I'm not as excited this year about it as I have in the past. Maybe that's because I have Anime Banzai now so I just don't see the point in it. Also, the majority of the CONduit staff doesn't seem to appreciate the work we do and the money we pull in from people who come exclusively for the anime. The Chairman is an awesome guy. He really likes anime and he's always been nice to us. He actually was a panelist at last year's Banzai and I'm pretty sure he'll help out this year as well.
Some jerk stole my boss's cell phone. But it gets better. My boss, Jeff, decides to call the phone and some guy answers it. The guy tells my Jeff he's got the wrong number . . . yeah, I don't think so. My boss asks this guy what his name is. It's Roger and apparently Roger bought the phone off a friend of his. Nice friend. Selling you a stolen phone. But Roger keeps insisting that Jeff still has the wrong number. So Jeff says that he'll hang up and call back just to be sure. So he calls back and no one answers. Big surprise. So he calls up his wife and tells her to try calling. No luck there either. So I decided to lend Jeff my cell phone so he could send the phone a text message. That got the guy. He calls back and starts yelling at Jeff to stop harassing him. Jeff told him to calm down and that it should be the person who sold him the phone that he should really be mad at. Roger tells Jeff that he'll meet with him to give him his phone back and that Jeff can reimburse him for what he paid for the phone. Holy crap!! Those are some balls!! Jeff told him that wasn't going to happen and that he was going to turn off the phone. Which he did 5 minutes later. Take that, Roger!!
Some people are really stupid. Apparently Roger is one of them . . .
