Thanks to an old plotbunny donated years ago to Shirebound's bottomless hutch, I think I've finally been given the much-needed direction for my Yule fic. Otherwise, I'd still be hitting my head on the keyboard crying, knowing I'd be forever banned from challenges if I can't come through.
Our family endured another challenge over the weekend: my cousin Jacque was traveling with three friends to Las Vegas for a bachelorette party on Saturday when a fast traveling storm left black ice on the roads in Kingman, AZ. She lost control of her vehicle and they rolled 20 feet down an embankment, turning over 7 times. Only a cactus (one of the tall saguaro indigenous to Arizona) stopped them from rolling more. She drives an Infiniti SUV with 6 airbags and all of them deployed; that and the cactus saved them from being killed. They all emerged with only bumps and bruises and we are very thankful.
