"I'm Miss World, somebody kill me...no one cares my friends"

Well and truly into holiday mode, you can find me parked in front of the computer, reading a book, listening to music or attempting something that I'm calling "exercise".  I haven't commenced my plan to be productive and use holidays for good and not evil, but I guess actually having a job is a step in the right direction.  It doesn't seem like i'm working there yet, I am still only getting 4 hours a week despite it being quite close to Christmas.  Everytime I come in after a week laid off from Sanity, I forget how to do things because I haven't had enough regular practice instore.  My store manager has just left, he was pretty damn good (friendly, funny, nice music and not strict) and I hope the new one isn't horrible.

On the reading books front, I've started reading a book called When We Were Orphans by Kazuo Ishiguro that I found at the uni markets for $4.  I haven't been able to get into it, so I might leave it for later and start Shantaram.  On the listening stage, I've been listening to Nathan Gaunt's latest album, Escape and Return.  I like his voice and the music, but i'm not a fan of the lyrics.  I guess I can't really relate.  Also listening to Love Outside Andromeda's debut and quite liking it.  I'm still loving The Reindeer Section's albums (bunch of scottish musicians from belle+sebastian, idlewild, arab strap etc, headed by the frontman of snow patrol) after having them for ages and ages.  I wouldn't mind looking into Television, Fuel, Frou Frou, 78 Saab or The Who.

Garden State is a pretty good movie, but I don't think I agree with the huge praise it's recieving.  It was certainly funny and (alot) better than the average american movie but there were a few things that annoyed me about it.  I won't go into it since alot of people haven't seen it.  3.5 points for the movie and 5 points for the soundtrack :)

- Watching Seinfeld reminded me how bad Everybody Loves Raymond and Friends are in comparison to their popularity.  Why don't we have Curb Your Enthusiasm here?
- The exams were ok and my results were better than I expected.
