I saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on Saturday. I was going to post about it at some point this weekend but I was surprisingly productive at home. So on to my HP thoughts.
HP:GOF movie thoughts. Standard spoiler warning.
I don’t think I should have watched that 30min. behind the scenes special on E! the other night. I think they must have shown a clip of like 90% of all the scenes. Each time they went onto a new scene I was like, I saw that. Yikes.
I loved the movie. It was fun and funny and scary and really well done. There were a few parts that I thought were a little weak but all in all great movie.
First I’ll talk about the stuff I loved about it.
-The Weasley’s. The whole lot of them. The twins were so much fun and cute in this one. I could watch a sitcom staring the two of them. Ron was perfect. He wasn’t only used for comic relief which bugged me in the past movies. I mean in the book he is often the comic relief guy but not always and we need to see that on screen. He was great in the parts regarding his fall out with Harry. Ginny was adorable, especially dancing with Neville at the ball. Arthur, I always love Arthur.
-The tasks. They looked exactly how I imagined them.
-Neville. I love the character of Neville and the actor did him so well.
-The Yule Ball. There were a few little things that bugged me about the ball but for the most it was beautiful. I loved seeing Hermione walk in with Krum. I love how Harry was the first to see her and his reaction at seeing his friend as a beautiful girl. Ron’s dress robes were hilarious. Poor Ron.
-Voldemort’s return and the death eaters. It played out almost exactly how I imagined it would. The death eaters looked sooo creepy. The Priori Incantatem spell looked really good. When Cedric’s ghost came out first and said take my body back to my parents’ I got quite teary.
-The scene right when Harry and Cedric come back to the maze and the crowd is cheering and Harry is crying and screaming. Oh my that was a very good scene and so sad. Especially when Amos saw his dead son. *tear*
I love a lot more about the movie but those are the main points. I might add more later.
What I didn’t particularly like was the ending. I thought it was a little weak. I would have liked to see a little more there.
Also, didn’t the Weird Sisters play at the Yule Ball? Those guys weren’t that weird and they didn’t look like sisters to me.
Ok, that’s all I can think of for now.
I can't wait to make icons. :)
General thoughts on LOST. Spoilers up to last episode aired
I haven’t talked about LOST recently so I want to just put down some thoughts and maybe some theories I have right now.
First of all Shannon getting shot and killed just sucks. I wasn’t all Shannon + Sayid = OTP or anything but it just sucks that it had to happen and like that.
The Others = creepy. Who the heck are these people? Where do they live and where do they keep all the people they take?
I knew that the other 48 days would probably show us more about Ana Lucia that would help us understand why she is the way she is. I'm still not a fan of her but I don't hate her. She is semi interesting. After the last episode I'm even more confinced that she was/is in the military.
That guy Goodwin was a "Other"? What he said intrigued me a lot. "Maybe they aren't attacking us." That makes me think that the others are selecting and taking some of them for a certain reason. Not that they are savages attacking this group and taking their goods or something.
Also he said that that dude Nathan wasn't "good" and that the kids are fine. This makes me think that there are certain people who are good for their purpose and that they are not harming them. This is of course if Goodwin is even telling the truth but that is all we have to go on.
Is Ethan a "Other" working with the other "Others"? LOL.
In the episode called Orientation, the film strip showed us what looked to me like two hippie type people who started a sort of research study. Perhaps the people who are taken are used for some type of research. Or perhaps they are being brought into a communal cult type of group and brainwashed. Maybe that is what the sickness is.
Also, we don't even know for sure if the "Others" have anything to do with the hatches and Dharma. The Others could be like guinea pigs or lackeys to some Dharma scientists doing an experiment. "Hey, go take these people and bring them here", or something like that. Or they could be an experiment gone wrong or out of control.
One of the things that totally confuse me and creep me out is the abduction and appearances of Walt. We've seen him 3 times now and all three times it was in the presence of Shannon. Why is he only appearing for Shannon? Maybe it has something to do with his dog Vincent. He gave him to Shannon to watch while he is gone. In the last episode Sayid saw him too because he was with Shannon. Ok, so the first time we see him he is dripping wet and saying something backwards. This seems very supernatural to me. If he is just a vision that both Shannon and Sayid can see when I just don't get it. I didn't think this show was going in a supernatural direction. If he is in fact flesh and blood Walt then A. why is he speaking backwards and B. why does he just show up and then go away? Why doesn't he stick around?
I didn't think I would write that much but I did. It's a lot of what if's I know, but I feel good getting my thoughts out.
Oh and lastly, where is the monster these days?
