Miss me???

So now that it has almost been a year how about an update? Grad school is in full effect now and I love it. I truly am happy that I decided to turn down vet school, but that doesn't stop me from still wondering what if . . . Anyway, I love research. It is so much fun discovering new things and seeing how they impact society. For instance, I just completed my first research project and it was for Monsanto. B/c of what I found in my research they are going to change some of the key things they used to do, awesome. There is one thing that sucks about it though, the paper work. I am still trying to write up a paper for the research so that I can get published in a science journal and it is taking me forever, that and I hate writing.

Other news, my mom just had more surgery on her back and will be off work for ~2 months. Maybe now she will finally stop trying to lift patients all the time and try to get a desk job. I also had to put my dog Bea down. It was very sad for me. She first got hook worm and she became so emaciated and God forbid that my parents actually take her to the vet. Well after we found out what it was and got antibiotics for it I noticed that she was still not putting on any weight and was getting thinner and weaker. So I made my parents take her back to the vet where we found out she had both a lung infection and heart worm. I knew from my classes that given her state the treatments alone would kill her and the vet confirmed it. I went home that weekend and my dad and I took her to the vet. I couldn't stop crying. Then we took her to the farm and buried her under a lilac tree, I know, sentimental me. Missy has started acting sick now but she is still fat enough that she could get treatment if god forbid it is heart worm. My brother Kyle is supposed to take her to the vet this week, we will see if that actually happens.

In current news, I am on spring break . . . technically. Thing is that there really is no such thing for grad students. So I am here working on research. Fun. Hopefully this gets anyone who cares caught up on my life. Might add more later if I think of it. Later.
