wow!!!
well friday was the pageant. all that i had been preparing for was finally here. mmy interview went well. i stumbled at the beginning forgetting part of my introduction, but i recovered. they asked me two questions about my platform, they asked what news story caught my attention this week (I said bin laddin), they asked how well i got along with my brother, what was my best memory of high school, whether sign language was a foreign language or not, wanted me to sign something for them, asked about my talent, asked if i thought the student body should be allowed into the bathing suit portion of competition and if i thought that it should be removed from competition at all, and i can't really remember what else. bathing sucked like always; i hate walking on stage with practically nothing on. oh well it was just for like 20 second. the rest of the night went by so fast. i thought that i had lost my dress b/c i couldn't find it, but someone had put it in the other dressing room. my talent went pretty well, my turns weren't too great, the stage was sooo slippery. but i did pretty well. the whole night went by so fast, it was so much fun too! i loved every minute of it. hunter sang and he was amazing! when we lined up for the announcement of who won, and courtney (last year's miss cc) took her last walk, i cried. they have a voice over of her talking and thanking everybody that helped her along the way, it was just very sad, so many emotions ran through me just thinking about the future. then they started calling out the top eight. i watched as 7 girls were called up. it came down to the last person, and the only thing running through my head was..."please say #9, please say #9) and they did! i was so happy that i had made top eight. it was so rewarding to think that people thought that i was not only pretty, but i could dance well, and i seemed like a nice girl. so many people don't think those things about me, and I was judged on all of it, and obviously did well! so i was and am very happy. plus it was good to get $500 back from all the money we psent on the pageant, and it gives me comfidence to be in more and try to get more scholarship money.
