Freezing buns off...
Baseball season! REALLY???? you wouldn't tell by the weather. I think my ass is still frozen on the bleachers from noon today! One would think with all thisd fat on the ass that it couldn't possibly get cold ~ not the case! But it was a great game...Jacob's team won....we stopped counting after 25 to 0 and the boys just kept playing for the fun of it and to help the other team get some practice.
I was sitting there thinking about all the years of watching baseball games with the kids. One thing that has never changed is the pettiness of the parents....no, I take that back...the mothers. I usually sit there and talk to the fathers actually.....but the women just get on my nerves. I think I have the male brain, not the female one 'cause I really can't relate to the female species...anyway... I usually sit on my own fold-out chair and not in the bleachers because of it, but didn't drag them out today (wasn't prepared for the game to take place since it was snowing this morning! But oh no, can't cancel the first game of the season no matter what....brrrrrrrrrrr!) So on to what has changed and I mean changed drastically! That is that in this entire school district we have two major league teams left! Ten years ago when the older boys played, every community had a team. We never had to travel far to a game because one community played the other...all within the same district. And the boys were great about it! It wasn't fighting to win....sure it was competitive...wouldn't have been fun if it wasn't...but all kids knew all other kids and most importantly, the kids LOVED the game! I am NOT a sports fan at all; however I LOVE to watch my boys play baseball. There is just something soooooooooooooooooooooooo totally AMERICAN about it! Where are all the boys?? Playing soccer! Soccer's ok, I guess....but what about BASEBALL??? It's spring! It's baseball season!! You know: Hotdogs, Applepie and yes, BASEBALL! We don't say: Hotdogs, Applepie and soccer!!!! NO! American boys play BASEBALL!! It's simply supposed to be that way!!!

While at the game I got a call from the local funeral director...another big funeral on Monday morning. I appreciate the work...but we have been swamped lately. Didn't have much going on today, which was nice 'cause we had the BB game, did deliveries before heading to the game and that was it, but have a funeral tomorrow too. Would like a Sunday off now and then.
Looking forward to a nice quiet evening this evening....every one but Jakey is out of the house!! YEA!! He's spending the evening in his room doing cleaning if he wants to keep his stuff 'cause come Monday I will have it all bagged and sitting in the basement if he doesn't get it done by then! :)
Time to eat something and check mail......'till later......me
