Hello my lovelies! I am still not back in the swing of blogging and lj, but I figure two posts in one month is better than my previous track record, right? Right.
Since I really should be going to bed (work is early), have a short numbered list:
1) conan Saw Conan the Barbarian last night. I had low expectations, so was pleasantly surprised. Guys, that movie is so terrible, yet entirely amazing. It is definitely deserving of the "so bad, it's good" title. But, if you're thinking about seeing it and have a weak stomach, I'd advise you to stay away. This was the goriest movie I've seen in a long while. Although there was one shot of Jason Momoa's posterior that was quite lovely...
2) birthday My birthday is on Friday! Since I'll be gone on my birthday and my dad is going to be out of town on the days leading up to it, we had the family celebration tonight. There was beef stew, a cake that ended up crumbling to pieces (but still tasted yummy), and presents! My favorite present is this pitcher:
Meet Beauregard:
Isn't he adorable! It's a chicken (er, rooster?) pitcher from a small town in Italy. There's a story attached to the pitchers that concerns the Medici family and failed assassination attempts. But if I'm being completely honest, I just think it's adorable.
3) d*c On Thursday I leave for Dragon*Con. \o/\o/ I am excited, even though Joe Flanigan and Adam Baldwin both cancelled. Alas! At least I've met Joe F. before, and this will save me money in the long run. This year I am most excited about seeing Eddie McClintock and Gareth David Lloyd again, and meeting David Anders for the first time. My schedule that weekend already looks booked, but it should all be fun!
4) dw Doctor Who started again! I ♥ Eleven and Amy and Rory. They are perfect together. Also, River Song.
5) warrior In less than two weeks, Warrior hits theaters. I am SO EXCITED guys. This movie features two of my favorite things in movies: fighting and pretty boys. (Because I am both shallow and violent. Shocking, I know.)
But come on, when one of the stars of the movie looks like this, don't you think shallow can be forgiven?
I am not sure I will be able to handle this movie. Tom Hardy and MMA fighting might make me fall into a swoon.
On that note, it is now after midnight and I have to get up in five hours. Cheerio, my darlings!
Tell me what's new with you this last week of August?
