At this stage it's been 6 weeks since I first noticed I was sore, and it was hard to walk. I barely finished a day at work, and that was my last. Since then, I've been sitting on the couch, feeling sympathy when my Fallout character receives a crippling injury.
Last Monday, the 17th of November, I went in to receive a corticosteroid injection in my hip. (Thankfully, they are covered by AB Health.) Aside from the pain of the needles (that went away after a day or two) I noticed little difference. Almost at wits end, (and desperately needing to get out of the house) I decided to see what use of the leg would do - maybe, after being cooped up for so long, I had begun to misjudge the pain. I went to the mall for a bit to walk around - 45 minutes max, with one 5 minute sitting rest. The result was pretty painful, and confirmed that, yes, it's still there.
So I tell my doctor all of this at my appointment. How I noticed little difference from the injection, how I am still in pain, how walking didn't help at all (and that it rather hurt), and how - yes - I can walk fine in the clinic, but I know it's going to be painful when I get home because of it.
And... he suggested I should "try to go back to work"? What? Oh, "only for a couple hours a day"... What? Hours?? And that "it seems to be getting better"? I don't understand. "Come back if I have any problems"?? Isn't this a problem? No? Okay. Tell me what the hell it is then!
Needless to say, I'm completely lost now. I don't know what to do about this. I don't know that I CAN do anything, which is worrying. Also, I trusted my doctor, and what I got from him today was - You look fine, I'm tired of seeing you.
Like I said - I just don't understand.
