Systems Operations, for seven years. Trust me, there were times we were just as frustrated by broken products, bloated clients, etc., as everybody else seems to be. We used to growl at Dev when they'd toss something over the wall that just barely worked, expecting us to work miracles because the product was going to be featured on the Welcome Screen in X hours. Been there, done that, worn the t-shirt, starred in the video.
I ran across your page when I was looking for a way to clean a buggy version of AIM off my home system (go figure). Great set of directions/FAQs/etc., by the way.
As for outsourcing jobs, I expect someday in the not-too-distant future to read a press release announcing the company's new name will be "IOL" (as in "India"). But, then, we're talking about a company that gave its new advertising arm a really exciting, creative name that somebody got paid a lot of money for..."Platform A". (Sounds like an announcement at Grand Central Station. "Now arriving on Platform A...")
