It's such a great feeling when opposing counsel approves of a motion you have filed. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and just so much better about myself!
This guy - the attorney general in one of our cases - is such a ... ugh ... words don't even describe how much I dislike this man. He's so smug and pompous. In many of our cases we actually have a decent working relationship with opposing counsel. However, in this case, the young man, we'll just call him Leon, is so completely despicable I can't take it. We filed a motion for the county to pay from some transcripts that by law they are required to do, and noticed it for a hearing. There is no statute or procedure that requires you to contact opposing counsel when filing such motion and there is no typical procedure in which you do. Especially for such a straight-forward motion. However, "Leon" decides he needs to file a notice of non-objection to the motion just to let us know that he approves and has done the research. What, you couldn't save it for the 5 minute hearing that's going to occur???
Ugh, he's so pompous!
Gotta run - having an office-wide staff meeting - must discuss policy, AGAIN. BORING BORING BORING!
