Parentalized Daughters

Dec 11, 2015 16:02

Got a bug in my ear to listen to the first Hunger Games book on audio again, and just realized that I'm moving from one story about a strong, traumatized, parentalized daughter (Lisbeth Salander in Stieg Larsson's "Girl Who..." trilogy) to another (Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games trilogy). I could psychoanalyze myself all day, but all I know is that I like the stories where those kinds of girls/women triumph over adversity.
