I fumble for the clock, alarmed by the seduction

Song lyric that amused me today:At my bedside, empty pocket,
A foot without a sock
Your body gets much closer
I fumble for the clock, alarmed by
The seduction
I wish that it would stop
- "Tempted," Squeeze
Hee. The clock. Alarmed. Okay, I'm easily amused. The Barenaked Ladies write lots of word-play lyrics like that, too, which is why I love them so much.

Cobweb has been seeming very cold lately, moving through the house (from one sunny spot to another) as the day goes on. This isn't her usual habit, so it's been a noticeable difference. So today I walked up to Pet Food Express and bought a kitty electric blanket, but it has thus far been 100% unsuccessful. It isn't very warm, so it doesn't attract the cats, and in fact Lucy won't even *step* on it. Right now it's on the cat tree, and when Lucy wants to move around there, she makes dramatic and precarious leaps to steer clear of the heat cushion. I'm waiting to see if Cobweb might eventually become interested in it, but the lack of real heat makes that unlikely. I may have to return it to the store. We'll see how things go tomorrow.

While still working on my Christmas crafty project (perhaps to be described -- with pictures -- in some future filtered post), I have come up with yet *another* Christmas project, though this one is considerably less time-intensive and complicated than the other. After working on it today, I've already got it about half-way done. I am way ahead of the game, as they say.

I have been reading lots of "Vampire Diaries" fanfic lately, and I find myself wanting to write something for the first time in ages. No brilliant ideas have come to me, though. The character relationships are just so deliciously *angsty*! I love to torture characters before giving them a happy ending.

Note: I just went downstairs and saw Munchkin on the heated pad, so I'm much cheered. If Munchkin likes it, Cobweb will no doubt wrest it away from her soon, and then it will warm the intended recipient.
