Rain rain rain rain rain. 'Tis the season, I guess. It was also cold enough to persuade me to leave my flip-flops behind in favor of real shoes and socks.
And we all know what rain means: our annual ant invasion will most likely begin any day now. Sigh.
But I rather like it when the rain pours down at night and I get to listen to it while comfy in the warm dryness of my house, preferably with a cat on my lap. When I'm out in the cold and wet, I don't enjoy it quite so much, but it's not the end of the world. Unlike the Wicked Witch of the West, I won't melt. At least, I haven't so far.
Tonight Shannon and I went to dinner at
La Mediterranée (one of my favorite Bay Area restaurants), and I saw a couple people there wearing Gryffindor scarves, no doubt dining before heading off to see the new Harry Potter movie on opening night. From the review I read on SFGate, I gather that the movie is very faithful to the first half of the book ... and is therefore really boring. Lots of tents, I hear. And bickering. And lack of all the really cool characters (like Luna, Neville, and Ginny). Who am I kidding? I'll probably still go pay my gazillion dollars to see it in the theater. The special effects are just so much cooler on the big screen.
For some unknown reason, I've got a hankering to see the movie Meet Joe Black again. It's incredibly long, and few people (besides me) seem to like it, but I've seen it several times and I love it to death. Ha. Pun sort of not intended, but not regretted, either. And the ending makes me cry every single time. So I'm going to put it at the top of my Netflix list and watch it next week. Yay!
