Exciting day. [Note: sarcasm]
Read about a third of Carlos Ruiz Zafón's The Shadow of the Wind while fighting sleep. The book is amazing. I want to read it all the all the all the time. Maybe for the rest of my life. Went out to Chinese food for lunch (tasty sliced fish in oyster sauce w/mixed vegetables and brown rice). Did some unsuccessful online Christmas shopping. Biked with Shannon all over the south Berkeley / north Oakland area (most specifically, Rockridge), doing the library thing, the Dark Carnival (book store) thing, and the supplemental grocery shopping thing. I have discovered that Safeway carries a pre-made rice pudding that does not contain egg, and it is my new obsession.
Shannon and I have been doing a lot of night-time biking lately, and I've been enjoying it a lot. It's just a different experience from most of the biking I've done, and I like the novelty.
While Shannon shopped at Dark Carnival, I hung out on a bench out front, chatting with people and with their dogs. It seemed to be prime dog-walking time (around 5:30ish), so it was almost like going to the dog park! I made some new friends, and Shannon returned with a backpack full of cheap sf books he'd been really wanting to buy. Cool!
In tv news, I'm not sure if I'm going to keep watching The Walking Dead or if I'm going to just let Shannon continue watching it without me. I certainly don't feel a *need* for new tv shows to watch. But there are only 2 or 3 more episodes of this season, so I'll probably see it through.
