Long time no see!
So I just needed to vent this.
So earlier I was discussing my practicum - I'm in a resource room three days a week, and I was bragging about my success when I work with individual students. The response suggested kids behave and are fun to work with as a result of me being 'cute'.
I realize this was just a joke, but still, I did actually get angry. I think my exact words (or near exact) were: I am offended that you would dismiss my abilities as a teacher and attribute my students' successes to my physical qualities as a woman.
Of course it wasn't intended that way. But that's the underlying connotations, and I still get agitated by it.
