One of my head canons about Sandor is that with his emotional volatility and hatred of lies is that he would be very ready to say he loves her and wouldn't be all Han Solo about it.
I chuckled at your Han Solo comment. You have a way with words and should write dry, witty, Sansan fanfic!

You know, I never thought about it that way. That's a really refreshing perspective. I do think he would say I love quick because he's opportunistic and he thinks those words would help him get into her smallclothes - I wrote as much in letter 3. But I'm wasn't sure if he would he comfortable saying them sincerely as I imagine him to be like a lot of older generation British people with iron in their marrow and not prone to gushing. But I think you have some special insight. And if he's from say Wales or Cornwall (if that's the Westerlands equivalent) then aren't those folk more emotional?

he wants a few soppy gestures like a rose
hahaha! Perfect description! Sandor definitely has a strain of sentimenality otherwise the Mother's hymn wouldn't effect him so. Also I do think men like soft, feminine, luxuries too. He definitely enjoys expensive wine. So while not the whole spa experience after dealing with gross lice and mud?
