Hello out there! I hope you all are enjoying the long weekend (for those of you who get it), and making the most of this time away from work/before school starts/last days of freedom, etc etc.
So yesterday I went out to my parents' cabin, and had a grand time. A time that has resulted in horrible pain, mind you, but still it was great while it lasted.
I took my two buns, Wiley and Lilly, with me and they got a chance to be outdoors, on real (non balcony fake) grass, and got to eat non-chemical sprayed grass and dandelions. My mom had her friends and their two daughters (aged 14 and aged 8) out as well, and it made me realize that for some odd reason, I get along with younger people better than older. The 8 year old loved me and proceeded to follow me around everywhere, and do everything I was doing. Which was fine. She also has bunnies herself, so she loved my buns, and was constantly popping their cage open to scratch their heads.
Quite some time ago (this summer) I rediscovered my love of water skiing. As a child, my family used to go up to the lake and all of us cousins would either ski, kneeboard, or surf. Then we got tubes, and that became the newest favourite water sport. But my parents still have a set of the old skis, and though I hadn't been up for a few years, I tried it. Much to my amazement, I was able to get up my first try! And I LOVED it.
However, my mom is able to get up and stay up on one ski - so that's been "my Everest" for the summer. Getting to one ski. Now, for non pros like me, it's easier to drop one ski as you're going, and remain on the left over ski. So yesterday my mom managed to do it (as usual), and then our 14 year old guest managed to drop a ski and continue (her first time). So ... not to be outdone by a teenager AND a 51 year old, I decided to try. And failed miserably (and painfully, I might add).
My second time trying, I dropped the ski and then pitched forward - falling face first into the rushing water. As a result, my neck snapped backwards, and my jaw slammed shut. Sooo ... today I'm unable to rotate my neck at all (which is fun in itself), and the entirety of my cervical spine is in total and utter pain. It feels like I've been in a car accident, or punched by a very large felon. It's also worsened the pain in my root canaled tooth (from Thurs), which is *great*. (read the sarcasm there). So, let's look at this week, shall we?
- Accidentally bit by rabbit (I was cleaning carrots and stuck my finger in the cage, so it's entirely my fault) on Tuesday.
- Root canal on Thursday (1.5 hours long)
- Fun Womanly Pain (read: someone was trying to rip my uterus out through my bajingo) on Thursday as well.
- Neck snapping and tooth rattling fun on the Winnipeg River on Saturday
I also downloaded legally obtained some more songs for my Hodgepod for my trip on Saturday. I've found even MORE love for Imogen Heap and Regina Spektor (bet you didn't think that was possible, eh?). So I'd like to share some of my favorite things with you.

.... and tell me she's not the most amazing woman in the world. Seriously. Try. (I also think I've developed another GirlCrush, as Immi is just simply awesome, and so friggin' cute when she performs!).
Finally, Regina Spektor = LOVE. I didn't think I could find a song that stole my heart faster than "Samson" did, and yet ... one did! I found the video for On The Radio this morning, and am now deliriously happy too. Watch it
