Whovian Audio Thinkies

Well, let's see. I still have yet to find an Eleventh Doctor audio I think worth recommending aside from Night of the Humans. How sad is that. I had high hopes for The Coming of the Terraphiles but it was a convoluted and rather silly mess. The Jade Pyramid has the benefit of being read by Matt Smith, but the boy can't pronounce the name Tanaka to save his life so that was a bit grating. It's short and cute and does have some nice cultural Japanese elements to it. The best line in the whole book was: "She (Amy) wore what seemed to Siju, glorified undergarments." I LOL'd at that one. The only thing I am eternally grateful for is that they haven't put River Sue in a book yet. BUT, early days.

Now, the Eighth Doctor Adventures on the other hand are ROCKIN!

Relative Dimensions brought back Susan and Alex. Seems Eight is finally getting comfortable in his role as Grandfather & Great-Grandfather again. That made me all happy, happy. It also introduced the potential for fan wank galore when we learn that Alex isn't as Gallifreian as he should be. Can't wait to find out where they're going with that.

Prisoner of the Sun was pretty run of the mill, but it does bring back the Doctor/Lucie dynamic. Right now, I am CHEESED at how push/pull Lucie is with poor ol Eight. He just wants a mate and he wants that mate to be Lucie, but she's being such a flake! And where and when are we going to run into Felonius Monk and Townshend again? I was wicked disappointed in her. She had potential.

So, still having more fun with Eight. Really wish if they've gone to all the trouble to redo his costume and sonic they'd get around to putting him back on video again already! Geez!
