Photo question

We had some problems with leaking in my parents' old place and we've recently come across a number of family pictures where the photo has become stuck to the glass of the picture frame it was in. Some of these pictures are rather old and we don't want to hurt them, but we'd like to get them off the glass.

Does anyone know a safe way to separate the glass from the picture?
