(no subject)
Ah, so far it's been a pretty productive weekend. I was up a bit late last night putting away stuff and generally straightening things up. I did the same this morning before the security system guy came by between 11:30 and 12. He gave me an estimate on what it would cost to activate the security system I have already installed here. He was a friendly guy and I heard all about 3 of his 4 children and showed him the kitchen floor (pergo) as he and his wife are looking into redoing theirs... Anyway, it was an interesting visit :)
Afterward, I took a trip north of the house and explored a bit. Found a huge Eckerds and a Food Lion, where I did some grocery shopping, which killed off the exploring. Ran into a couple at FL that I (happily) haven't seen in years. I worked with the wife years ago when I worked Wednesday nights taking care of kids at one of the churches downtown. I don't know if she recognized me, but I didn't stick around to find out. I was done shopping so I headed home.
Came home and had a snack, then took a nap for a while until M woke me up by calling to see if I still needed help figuring out the mower. He dropped off the dog and came over a while later. While waiting for him, I finally got my towel rack put up again, which will be helpful. When he showed up, we reinstalled the handle on the mower, filled it with gas (still need to get a little 1 gallon gas container for that) and, after a number of pulls, got it started. I got a crash course in how to mow and how to use the mower. After he left, I did the front and one side yard. I still need to do the back yard, but I'd prefer to get an edger first. Might look into that tonight...
As I was walking around, I was looking at all the things I really want to do with the outside (I need kitiara to come take over my place's landscaping like she has hers ;) There are a number of big bushes that either need to be trimmed back or taken out entirely (M suggested trimming back first and, if I do decide to take them out, to think about reusing them elsewhere, as big bushes are expensive. I agree). I have to consider the outside's plan of attack before I do anything major.
Anyway, I think it'll be more of the same tonight. The living room is starting to shape up nicely, though it still needs work. Okay, I need to get back to work or get things together to head out shopping again. Might check the finances again, as I spent a bit of money this morning buying some air purifiers, which will hopefully help me with the congestion I always seem to get over night.
