The piece could use a LOT more commas, but it's an absolutely hysterical (if you like your hysteria dry) assessment of the personalities running for office. Warning: if you support anybody but Obama, the piece might tick you off. >:)
And this from fashion and style expert Charla Krupp (whoeverthefuck *she* is): advice on how not to look old. The best thing she does is acknowledge that some of the stuff she advises isn't practical for women who aren't rich. *headdesk* I suppose you have to buy her book (pass) to get the real skinny, but it seems like an awful lot of effort for very little reward. Should I somehow manage to change myself enough to look "young," forget about fat, I will still be black and female and therefore a lesser being. It's just too damn much trouble for a future corpse. I'll just have to get by somehow.
Finally, I got a call from Amgen. A job, possibly, starting the 16th. The only reason it is "possibly" is because according to the rules, I can't return until the 24th. I'm waiting to hear if the extra week can be gotten around but this news was promising enough to pull me out of my low-grade depression. (High grade is when I'm suicidal. Low grade is when I just wish I could die. See the difference?) If not the 16th, definitely after the 24th. They have work, and they want me... and I don't have to interview (always a deal-breaker) for it.
