So glad these two days are over.

It all started with Dan and I coming up with the idea that visiting family would be a good idea.....it wasn't.

I woke up with a cold. This should have been my first clue.

We drove up to Chatham...ok Bothwell which is a good half hour furthur than Chatham.....with a non-air conditioned car and a napless toddler. That should have been my next clue to run back home.

We got to my parents and had a great lunch and dessert while Ariana ran around the acre or two of backyard they have and Hayley cuddled with Grandpa. So far so good. Dan went home to sleep the day away and we let Ariana play in an old washtub outside for an hour or two. Still going good. Grandpa went home and grandma, me and the kids went out for dinner.

And then we got home.....

Poor Ariana fell asleep on the way home and I managed to carry her to bed, change her and get her almost settled without her waking up...then just as I move my hand away from her head, she woke up. She had gone from a cool air-conditioned car to boil hot room with a broken fan and a window that won't open. She started crying which I managed to settle pretty fast. She went in her play-pen and layed there awake for the next two hours calling for me every now and then to make sure I haden't left her alone in a stange place. By this time it was 11 and she fell alseep.....then Hayley woke up and of course woke up her sister too. Sigh. I gave both a drink (ok feed hayley) and put them back to bed. Ariana woke up half hour later sweating to death so we went into the cool living room to watch a movie.....she didn't fall asleep.  In the end she went to sleep at 3 till 9.....Hayley woke me up at 3:30. I got to bed at 4 then was woken up again at 6.

After two hours sleep I woke up with my voice croacking like a bull frog and my head feeling more vicelike than before. The average person would take this time to lay in bed all day and rest. I took this time to give the kids a bath (not needed but I'm crazy so hey), re-pack everything from the day before, load the car cause Janis isn't supposed to lift more than 10lbs., and get a very tired toddler off to Chatham.

Dan came to my resuce by picking us all up a day early and saving me from furthur destruction of my throat and sanity.

Now both kids are sleeping comfortably, I'm waiting for my Halls and Iced Coffee to be delivered, and I am soon to be off to bed and into a sound slumber......until my baby wants food.

*Don't worry Dan, if Ariana wakes up there is no way I'm going in the room to disturb her*
